Happy Valentine's Day

Hi!
Happy Valentine's Day!!

I made my families favourite chocolate cupcakes sprinkled with hearts....my daughter's in heaven and my oldest is grossed out by all the lovey dovey hearts! :)

(I'll add the recipe soon)

Now for all of you..who like my son...are not thrilled with all the lovey dovey, pink and red hearts...here's a Valentine's card I created that all about love and not covered in pink hearts!! :)

LOVE is blind...don't you think! :)

I used my Garden Friends stamp set....and the background set is Hero Arts clouds...one of my favourites! :)

I LOVE snow...is it because I grew up in Canada or I was born in December or I've got Lički blood in my veins...I just do! And I've been waiting for snow to fall here in Zagreb for so long....and it came...my old friend...so good to see you again! :)

Well...I all hope you get to spend some time with the people you love today!

I got this recipe from here....only I used dark chocolate (I take a dark chocolate bar and chop it up into big chunks and always add more chocolate chips than the recipe calls for!).

Hi!

I need to create a card quick and when I saw Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger challenge Fancy Schmancy I knew exactly what I was going to do!!

I used our Party Time stamp set and created the perfect chocolate cake with yummy pink frosting!!! :)

I used glossy accents on the frosting and coloured the cake with copics. I also used Hero Arts stamps for the background and the sentiment....I'm thinking Jane's Doodles needs some background stamps!! :)

I created this one using my Mr. Smiles stamp....coloured him with Copics and Le Plume markers.

I also used a SRM sticker and these adorable puffy hearts I found at Accessorize.

Smile and a crochet update

It's Friday and that's why I'm smiling! :)

I created this card with Mr. Smiles who has a very contagious smile if I do say so myself!!

I heat embossed Mr. Smiles using white embossing powder. I love using white because you can always use your white gel pen to fill in any gaps.

As for my crochet project.....here's what's happening.....granny squares! I'm making this for my daughter's bed....she LOVES the colours!

Personalized Pear giveaway

For those who visit my blog you might remember these pears I made last Christmas....since then I have been asked if I will sell them at my Etsy shop....so this is a little experiment...I will give away one personalized pear (the winner will let me know which letter they want me to emboss the pear with) and see how the shipping goes (whether it gets there in one piece, how much shipping costs, etc.). This pear is made out of polymer clay (fimo) the same I make my buttons with. It's approx. 2 inches high and 1.5 wide. I made this one for myself....B for Beljo (my last name...and I keep it on my desk next to my L'Erbolario candle. :)

Often when I visit some of my favourite blogs I come across certain things that are not available here in Croatia.....Yankee Candles being one of them.....until now.....at least now is when I stumbled across a website where I saw that they are available here!!! (for the Zagreb peeps the store is on Gundulićeva 18).

I can't wait to go there and just SNIFFFFFFFFFF all the candles!!! :) Here are some I think I'd like....do you have any favourites???

This Croatian on-line shop has probably been around for a while....but it's new to me...I'm ALWAYS out of the loop...anyways I spotted this nailpolish there....LOVE this colour!! Never heard of this brand.

And could you believe that they even sell some of Burt's Bees goodies there too!!!! I soooo want this!! :)

We took the kids skating today and I have no idea where we were...never been there before but there's this mall there and I spotted a shop that I just never wanted to leave!!!! It was closed though (it's a holiday here in Croatia) but I did leave my face imprint on the glass....it reminds me of L'Occitane...very similar...it's called Durance....have you heard of it??

Just look at this trio....drool!

And then there's this cute travel brush kit set from Sigma that I want....don't really need it...just want it! :)

Hi!

I finally get to share a project I've been working on for a while...I created this calendar using the SRM 6x6 calendar and SRM stickers. I also used die cuts but mostly created my own (my own hand drawn are Jan., April, June, July, Aug., Sept., Oct, Dec.). There's a lot of hand stitching here too.

I was stumped on July...should I do a 'Fourth of July' theme...but because we here in Croatia don't celebrate that (since it's an American holiday) I decided to keep this month pretty neutral.

Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve...have any special plans?? I think we're going to take the kids down town to look at all the lights and decorations and then have a cozy family night...perhaps a movie and popcorn!! I lay some blankets and pillows on the living room floor and we all get cozy together!

I wish you all the very best in the New Year ( lots of joy, love and good health).

So...nailpolishes....love em! I discovered a new brand called Anny (German brand)....anyone ever use it?? They are a little over $10 and they've got a gorgeous colour selection...these are my current favourites!!

I also discovered Mavala (Swiss brand) nailpolsihes which are cute little mini ones that I actually prefer...OPI (love them) but they are HUGE and literally by the time I get through half of one it dries out and the fact that they cost $20 here in Croatia....yes TWENTY DOLLA!!!!! no thanks!

I have a love-hate reletionship with red nailpolish...but this one caught my eye!! I also like the fact that Mavala nailpolishes are free from parabens, formaldehydes, toluene, camphore, cellophane, animal ingredients and heavy metal.

Hi!

It's been forever....I've been so busy...I think December is busy for everyone!!

One thing I've been up to is making holiday cards for my son's daycare group to raise money...I've mentioned before that times are tough here in Croatia and how parents bring everything from paper towels, wipes, plastic cups...they don't have much of anything, art supplies like paint, markers and paper.... so I got the idea to organize a holiday card workshop where I pre-cut/fold/glittered etc. and the parents and kids just put the cards together to sell infront of their room....I'm so proud to say we raised a lot of money .....more on this a little later....

Here's Mr. Penguin (you can get the digi stamp here). I used a SRM sticker sentiment.

Here's another card I made...the poinsettia, snowflakes and sentiment are from our Vintage Christmas stamp set that you can find here.

I'm so BUSY it's crazy!!! My SRM DT is coming to an end...which to be honest I am relieved and sad at the same time...SRM is AWESOME and I will continue to use their stickers....Susan is a gem!! Relieved because my work time is very limited...my kids are only in school until 11:30...it's a little different here in Zagreb for most of the schools....so I pretty much have the kids with me all day....anyways I will be able to go full force with Jane's Doodles.....I've got loads up my sleeve! :)

missing teeth and a birthday card

Hi!

I wanted to share this birthday card I made....I'm making birthday invitation for my neighbour's daughter (which looks like this card but without the sentiment). She will be celebrating her birthday at the zoo so I immediately thought zebra print and hot pink! :)

I coloured the frosting with a pink copic marker, covered it with a layer of glossy accents and then sprinkled two different shades of pink glitter. The sentiment is a SRM sticker.

Here's Mia with some teeth missing! She's a hoot! :)

Vintage Christmas blog hop

Hello!!!

I'm so excited to have you join us for our Vintage Christmas stamp release blog hop!! Now there's lots to see so I won't go into too much detail so if you have a question about any of my projects please ask! :)

For my first card I did a little 'resist' technique that I learned from Jennifer McGuire's Inspiration Showcase online class...I heat embossed the poinsettia image with white embossing powder and then distressed the whole thing with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China. I stamped the little snowflakes in silver ink. I used a SRM sticker for the sentiment.

This next card is sooooo EASY to do!! I just stamped the snowman onto the card....I also took the little birdie from Garden Friends and stamped it on the snowman's arm....best friends! :)

Coloured with copics and I also added some chunky glitter.

Anyone who visits my blog regularily knows how much I love to make tags!! This is also a very quick and easy tag to make. I coloured the snowman with pencil crayons...added some glitter and glossy accents to the snowman....another SRM sticker too!

For this tag I stamped the poinsettia and cut it out...

Another easy tag....coloured with pencil crayons, distressed with Tim Holtz distress inks in Vintage Photo and Tea Dye and I finished it off with a mist of Perfect Pearls to give it a soft shimmery look.

Seriously....do I even need to explain this one??? :)

I really like using this poinsettia as a background....bold and colourful card! :)

And finally for my last project.....vintage chocolate!!! I stamped the poinsettia onto this kraft wrapping paper and wrapped a HUGE chocolate bar. I stamped the sentiments onto a smaller tag and distressed it with distress ink.

Here's something I've been working on....I was asked to make a sign to put on the door for my son Jakov's daycare group. Each group has a 'name'...Jakov's group is called the Vrapčići - Sparrows...and their room is #8 (the reason for all the SRM 8 stickers)....

It's a bit wonky...the paper that is....because I brushed over it with some mod podge and hadn't dried 100% when I took the picture..

Cosmo Cricket LOVE

What a lucky girl I am to be able to play Cosmo Cricket GOODNESS!!!! Cosmo Cricket is one of my favourite companies.....I especially love that they have their yummy 6x6 paper pads.

I also made this little origami box....it makes a cute little gift box.

I made this tag to use on a SRM tube for a friend who started work again (after being on maternity leave). I put a lipgloss in it.

Last but not least....Mr. Smiles!!! I love him! I wanted to add a lot of googly eyes so before I inked him up I put scotch tape over his eyes, inked him up, took the tape off and stamped him on cardstock.

I stamped him on pink CC pattern paper and just added some depth with a slightly darker pink copic marker. A little glossy accents, I used a white gel pen to colour in his teeth...some glitter and voila....a pretty darn handsome Mr. Smiles! :)

Hi!

I totally forgot about this card.....before summer holidays started my youngest son's group at daycare went on a trip to a REAL Fire Station with REAL Firefighters (one of the dad's in his group is a Fireman and organized the whole thing for free...I'm talking that they got to ride behind real fire trucks with flashing lights and sirens..the works!!! It was BRILLIANT!)....so the whole group got together to get him a gift basket and I was asked to make a card......

I'm really trying to find a balance with my 'stay at home mom' responsibilities and my Jane's Doodles work. I'm realizing that some things have got to give...and so that is why I'm not blogging here as much or around blog land either. I'm busy drawing up new stamp sets....a lot I still can't share...but can hardly wait!! And I want to play with my kids...time is flying and they're growing up so fast! Mind you....you don't need to have children as a reason to play............

Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool

I have come to learn about Sigma a few months ago and after reading loads of great reviews I decided to try it out. You can pop on over to the Sigma website to check out their brushes and make up.

I promised to do a review on Sigma's Cleansing & Polishing Tool so here it is! :)

Firstly the price is $39 which is a bargain! International shipping NOT a problem. My package arrived within 10 days or so.

This is what the Sigma Cleansing & Polishing Tool looks like....

Absolutley ADORABLE!! :) The case is a sturdy plastic and CUTE! It comes with 3 brush heads.

I am thrilled with it...I use it once a week (on my face) more on my body. I can't compare it to the Clarisonic or Olay because I have never tried them out. But Sigma is the cheapest of the 3 and my skin feels amazing and polished after use. I think I should mention that I have sensitive (just a little sensitvity in the cheek area) combination skin and once a week use on my face is perfect for me.

So instead of me rambling on about how it work...check out the video...

I have a list of Sigma brushes I want to get my hands on!! Did I mention that you get a free gift when you spend over $30.

I saw this poster on Carly's blog and I too had to share!!!

How many times do I become overwhelmed with trying to balance my full time Mommy/Wife work and Jane's Doodles...I feel like giving up...A LOT! I have no babysitter/help...my kids are done school at 11:30am...which doesn't leave a lot of time for drawing. But then there are little signs that pop up exactly when I need them...like this BRILLIANT poster (speach by Steve Jobs).

Life IS too short and I'm so blessed to be given the opportunity to do what I LOVE...and that's to doodle! :) I appreciate all the support shown....encouraging words, AMAZING Guest Designers who join us for our releases, our customers...I'm so grateful! I can't give up!

Just a note- a new stamp release coming soon....'it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas'...

Hi!

Me and my youngest have got the flu...feeling better though...just really worn out now...

I wanted to show some cards I made for my neighbour a while back (she requested some 'flowery' cards)...

I created these two cards using my Pretty Peonies set.

So for both cards I basically stamped the flower on white cardstock, coloured with copics and cut them out (it's an easy image to colour and cut).

I used SRM sentiments on both cards...easy peasy! :)

World Card Making Day is around the corner....

And I have something fun planned for ya'll! :)

Marvy Le Plume Markers

Marvy Le Plume Markers people!!!!! I am SOLD!!! :)

I am so thrilled I got this chance to work with them....I still LOVE my Copics but I am very impressed by the Le Plume quality and the price cannot be beat!!! $2.99 each! I already have my wish list ready!!!

For my first card I used my Noah's Ark stamp....ok...this is THE stamp if you feel like colouring!!! :)

Blending was a breeze and the colours I was sent are just gorgeous!

I added some glossy accent to some of the animal's noses....a little crazy stitching....I LOVE how I can use these markers in a way to resemble water colours.

For my next project I used my Little Miss Mia stamp which is really easy to colour.

I used Pretty Peonies to create the background AND I used the kissing technique thanks to Jennifer's Inspiration Showcase classes! I yet have to throw in the 'resist' part of the technique...baby steps.

What I did was added pink ink to my peony stamp and then inked up PTI's polka dot stamp with red ink, kissed that directly on my peony stamp and stamped that onto white cardstock. I lOVE how it turned out!

Last but not least is my Halloween tag using my Mr. Smiles stamp (he so makes me smile...everytime!).

I made my own glittery buttons by adding a layer of Glossy Accents to my orange buttons and then covered them with orange glitter....wait a few seconds, pat the glitter down gently...then wait for it to dry completely.

Do you see the SRM tube filled with my handmade buttons??? :)

Hello!

I'm soooo EXCITED to introduce our newest stamps sets.....FINALLY!!! :)

I created this card uing our Party Time stamp set....it's a great set for birthday cards, birthday invitations, celebrations....

This 'row of cakes' stamp is one whole piece but you can cut between the cakes and have individual stamps (a tip I learned from Jennifer McGuire). I stamped the sentiment and used Hero Arts white embossing powder.

This stacked presents image would be perfect for Christmas cards too!! :)

I paper pieced the presents using some pattern paper.

I absolutely LOVE this next set....I love flowers and couldn't wait to draw some!! :) This set is called Pretty Peonies. I used SRM stickers on my cards too.

Hi!

I made another eraser stamp of a tree the other day and here's a very simple card I made using it.

I used SRM's We've Got Your Sticker Treats.

I really like carving with Stabilo erasers...they are nice and soft....here's what I used to make this eraser stamp (the stamp is brown from the ink I used - Colorbox's chesnut brown).

I have a confession.....I LOVE beauty products!!!!
Make up, creams, body mists, nail polish, make up and more make up!!! :)

I have combination sensitive skin with some dryness on my checks and I have struggled with finding a cleanser that's going to deep clean but not irritate my skin.......

LOVE this cleanser!!! My face is finally happy! :) I read this and totally agree.

I found this video on how to make your own pore strips....you can actually see the gunk on the strip...ewww! :)

I also got my hands on this...

I have recently discovered Sigma on the internet (blogs..reviews)....I tried this last night and my skin is buffed, smooth and happy!!! You have 3 rotating brushes...the pink being the softest for your face. The pink and white for your body and the white bristles are for those rough patches..elbows..

I so LOVE the box too! :) Oh and it's $39.00 US and international shipping is great AND it got her in a jiff! :)

I got a list of make up brushes that I want...the prices are awesome...I have a few Mac brushes and I have to say they cost more than I'd like to pay.

Yup...so I LOVE make up...but don't get me wrong..I don't wear alot...but this is a topic I want to share on the blog...my beauty finds...'what's in my make up bag'..etc. Just giving you a heads up! :)

DIY moulds & polymer clay tutorial

Hi!

I'm back with the tutorial I did for this magazine!

Papercraft Inspirations

Okay...here we go! :)

So I bought this silicone putty at Etsy and decided to use some PTI buttons to make a moulds of.

Take two equal parts and mix them together.....very quickly.

I mean as quick as possible because the putty starts to dry as soon as you take it out of it's container...mix and make a ball.

Push the button into the putty. For this particular brand it says to let it stand for about 20 minutes to harden.

Then pop out the button...and you have your mould! :)

Take your polymer clay (I used Fimo), roll into a ball and press into the mould.

I usually have to add or take away some fimo for a perfect fit....you want the back as flat as possible so it will lay flat on your project.

With this silicone putty you can bake the polymer clay in the mould...what I usually do is put it in the freezer for a minute and the polymer clay pops out and then I bake it....saves time to do it this way if you want to make more than one button.

I then threaded the button with bakers twine and added a big glue dot on the back to adhere it to my card.

I also used Hero Arts Clouds stamp and a SRM sticker for this card. This card reminds me to relax, chill....don't stress....everything I need I already have....my family and our health. :)

All three buttons on this card I made using moulds I created from the buttons above (all PTI buttons).

Some pics from our holiday...

We stayed at my aunts home....isn't it gorgeous!!!

We spent one whole day hanging out in Nin (where my mama is from)...I LOVE this place most in the whole world! Here's Jakov on the beach....where's his feet!???!

When you come to Nin you MUST rub Grgur Ninski's toe!!! It's good luck people!

Marko and Jakov making all kinds of wishes while rubbing 'the' toe!! I hope they come true for them! :)

We then made our way to my cousin's restaurant Konoba Branimir....it is just BEAUTIFUL!!! and the food was YUM YUM YUM!!! (all those stones you see along the ground are ruins...)

AND this restaurant is right across this BEAUTIFUL church.....

sv. Kriz (Holy Cross church) is known as the smallest kathedral in the world dated from the 9th century....did I mention I LOVE this church (and that my husband and I married in a church opposit of this church!!!)

Inside this GORGEOUS church...

My kids wanted to take a picture next to Sponge Bob's house! LOL (I believe this building is the elementary school my mom went to....my kids so love learning all this about their Baba (grandma).
